STATEMENT SENT TO ALL THE COLLABORATORS : Oct 2010
I am delighted to announce the winner of the 1st Gower Shutterbugs Competition.
Mr Alan Gregg of Scurlage, Gower shot the photo from the Worm itself, in the curve of the small bay, looking toward Devil’s Bridge and the tip of the Worm, demonstrating superb skill in a long exposure, and complete sympathy to the competition terms. He said “On the evening of 9th March 2010 I looked out of the window and could see it was going to be a fantastic sunset so I picked up the camera and sped to the Worm”.
Personally, I think that the resulting spontaneous photograph will become a favourite of many.
Judges Dan Santillo, Mark Button and Mike Briercliffe shortlisted three entries and agreed conclusively that Alan’s shot met all the criteria.
Unfortunately there were no entire for the Youth Section. We hope to improve on this next year.
Next year we will partner with another Gower venue.
This is what you have been waiting to see, so again Congratulations to Mr Alan Gregg.
Alan received a Certificate of Achievement from The Right Worshipful The Lord Mayor of the City & County of Swansea Councillor Richard Lewis.
They are pictured here at The Bay Bistro Coffee House, Rhossili where Alan’s photograph will be displayed for public viewing.
Receiving his photograph for the benefit of the Evening Post photographer.
The Bay Bistro and Coffee House is a haven for walkers and international visitors.
Delicious home-made food including Gluten Free items too, one of the few places on Gower that appreciates the needs of people with special diets.
